About Us

History
Since its creation in 1988, ASK Employment and Training Services (ASK) has delivered in excess of 30 State and Federal Government Employment programs, and most recently secured a Job Services Australia contract (2009 -2012) to provide employment services throughout the Northern Adelaide Employment Service Area. ASK became a fully owned and operated service of Centacare Catholic Family Services in 2006.

Holistic Employment Focus
ASK specialises in providing vocational and non-vocational support for its job seekers, with the objective of providing employee referrals that demonstrate both an appropriate attitude, as well as aptitude.

Performance
In the last ten years, ASK has placed in excess of 12,600 job seekers into employment, which is reflected in the above average Federal Government competitive ratings achieved during the period.

Industry Recognition
In 2008 ASK was recognised by the Department of Correctional Services for our preparation and referral processes, following the work undertaken with pre-release prisoners.  The process included a job search training and social inclusion employment program, assisting prisoners more easily transition from prison to employment, primarily by ensuring that known skills were accurately matched to local employer demands. Peter Severin (CEO - Department of Correctional Services) wrote “Prisoners have indicated that ASK provides an excellent service" and "I am pleased to confirm the Department of Correctional Services high level of satisfaction with ASK". Since commencement of the pre-release program in 2006, 88% of all pre-release referrals have secured employment.

Quality Assurance
Centacare Catholic Family Services is a nationally accredited organisation assessed against the Quality Improvement Council (QIC) Australian Health & Community Services Core Standards and the Community Services Standards.
